Our History

The Story of BrickCon Foundation
BrickCon Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational programs for the public in the state of Washington on the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) capabilities, as well as the artistic possibilities of LEGO bricks.
Our Roots
The foundation has its roots in the BrickCon convention, which has been bringing together LEGO enthusiasts since 2002. What started as a gathering of passionate builders has grown into a community-focused organization committed to education and inspiring creativity. Learn more about the History of BrickCon.
A Historic Milestone: 2023
In 2023, BrickCon Foundation achieved a significant milestone by assuming responsibility for the longest running exhibition of LEGO bricks in the world. This exhibition represents decades of creativity, engineering, and artistic expression through the medium of LEGO bricks.
Our Mission Today
Today, BrickCon Foundation continues to:
- Inspire creativity and learning through hands-on LEGO building experiences
- Promote STEAM education by demonstrating how LEGO bricks can teach engineering, mathematics, and artistic concepts
- Foster community engagement by bringing together builders of all ages and skill levels
- Preserve LEGO culture by maintaining and growing the legacy of LEGO exhibitions
Looking Forward
BrickCon Foundation remains committed to expanding our educational programs and reaching more students, families, and LEGO enthusiasts across Washington State and beyond. We believe that through the universal language of building, we can inspire the next generation of engineers, artists, and creative thinkers.
